Study at Aeterna

A serious education begins with a serious question.

Aeterna is preparing a formal pathway for students drawn to the Great Books, the liberal arts, and the languages of antiquity.

Current status

The admissions pathway is in formation.

Applications are not currently open through this website. Aeterna has not yet published cohort dates, program format, prerequisites, fees, scholarships, or a selection calendar.

We would rather be precise than premature. Prospective students may send an admissions inquiry now; the Institute can then respond with the information presently available.

The intellectual ground

What study is built around

The published curriculum establishes these areas of study. Practical program details will be added here when they are settled.

Ancient languages

Latin and Ancient Greek are approached through grammar, reading, speech, and direct engagement with original texts.

The liberal arts

The Trivium, Quadrivium, and Great Books provide the intellectual architecture of the curriculum.

Considered inquiry

Seminar questions test propositions, expose assumptions, and make space for a more exact account of the truth.
